The Arun Jaitley Stadium, formerly known as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, is a cricket stadium located in Delhi, India. Established in 1883, it is the second oldest international cricket stadium still functional in India, after the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
It has a rich history and has hosted numerous Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). The stadium is home to the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The stadium was renamed in 2019 to honor the late Arun Jaitley, a politician and former president of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA). The renaming was done as a tribute to his contribution to the sport.
Over the years, the stadium has undergone several renovations to improve its facilities and increase its seating capacity. It is known for its spin-friendly pitch, which often provides assistance to slow bowlers. The pitch generally favours spin bowlers.
The stadium holds significant historical importance and is a prominent venue for cricket matches in India. It continues to host domestic and international cricket matches and contribute to the cricketing landscape of the country.
